Secret Garden

Has been addicted to this korean drama recently. It has been a while since my last addiction. ha ~~and it has provided my " escape from reality " antidote for the whole of the moody December.

Thanks to internet, I have been catching it simultaneously with the Koreans. ( maybe 2 -4 days delays) -- -- -- - Sweet anticipation =)

For the review, do check out Dramabeans. They do a particular good job in deconstructing and reviewing the drama episode by episode. All I can say is good acting and beautiful soundtrack ( well... most korean ost is good la ).

The drama is drawing to a close and I find myself wishing for a happy ending, especially after a very sad episode 17 today.

One thing I learn from the korean drama / movie, they never play by the ball. That's one thing I like about Korean script. You are never quite sure how the ending will be until the very end of the show.

UP : Ellie & Carl

Was watching the rerun of { Oscar } this morning and was so thrilled that { Up } has won the best original music score (and Best Animation feature film ). I know, I am a bit slow la. =)

Love the music score of { UP }, especially the part " Ellie & Carl Married Life ". Sweet......and that is my ideal and hope of what a married life should be. ha ha ~ ~ One other film that has the same effect was { Julie & Julia }. I guess I am a hopeless romantic. Although, I did once went into a debate with someone over how unromantic I am. ha ha ~ ~ My fault, I did it deliberately so to give a different perspective of things. =P

Anyway, I love { Up }. Don't know why I haven't buy the DVD yet. Maybe I am simply too preoccupied with challenges that life has thrown at me for the moment. Juggling, Juggling.

刑事

我是个戏痴。
从小就爱看戏。只要看得懂，什么都看。
自从有了网路视讯，我的“戏痴程度”就更加的无可救药。=p

这部就是我最近为之痴狂的戏，《刑事》Duelist。


注意 1:32 电吉他和鼓声进来的部分。不要被吓到了。
Mv 的音质很差，可是我很喜欢这整幕的呈现方式。配乐很棒。武打动作还结合了tango舞蹈。挺新颖的。

喜欢整部戏的调调
很享受那光与影强烈对比下，所撞击出来的感官刺激。感觉～就象是第一次看王家卫的电影一样。晕眩可是很震撼。我觉的有早期徐克电影的风格；动作，爱情，闹剧。 ( 注：倩女幽魂系列，龙门客栈 ）

喜欢它的电影配乐
如果说故事是一部电影的骨架，那配乐就是电影的灵魂。你看不到它，可是它却主栽了你看戏的心情。

这是一张很棒的OST (original soundtrack)。它游走于西方与东方的音乐元素还加入了rock elements。好象很突兀，可是我觉得刚刚好。喜欢 track 08，小提琴与二胡的“对话”, 然后结尾是电吉他的一气呵成。听了又听才确定那是两把乐器的声音。从来没发现小提琴与二胡的特质原来很相近。

突然想起了拥有一样听歌默契的你。你一定也会喜欢这张OST，里面好些段落的二胡独奏很精彩。

觉的［刑事］象部舞台剧。它的武打像是在舞剑，舞剑的又像是在跳舞。哈～另一部，我有同感的是［夜宴］。我自己还挺喜欢的。


有些片子只在网上看是很可惜的。一些原有的细节早在被上传的时候 ，给解码器给压缩掉了。在土豆看了这部片子的隔一天 ，我忍不住把它给网购回来。 我想看看它的制作特辑，尤其是那场结合了tango舞蹈和武打的双打场面。很新颖。很大胆。

挖了这位导演李明世的另一部片子 ［ M ] 来看。 故事情节一样让人晕眩，可是镜头的处理很棒。有点杜可风，张叔平的影子。整部片子的底色是很重的黑与蓝。我很喜欢这种色调。

Movie under a Banyan Tree

My friends and I attended the National Museum Open Air Cinema yesterday night. It was an interesting experience watching An American In Paris under the stars. ( actually there was no stars , but a lot of rain clouds hovering around ) Quite Romantic.....haha ...... Am loving it.

Looking forward to Little Shop Of Horrors and Beetlejuice in September.

Chris mentioned in his blog about one other event at Fort Canning on 12 September 2009 [ Blockbuster Movie Night @ Fort Canning ]. They are showing the Iron Man and Transformer : Revenge of the fallen. 看来要招兵买马一起去了。


He was loading the first projector with film and we were sitting right below it. Think they loaded 4-5 roll of films for a 2 hrs show.

Many of us were picnicking away. We bought grill chicken and salads . Should have brought some wine to complete the picnic. ha ha ......I dont mind some kacang putih too. =P

....My friend and I were lying flat down, admiring the passing clouds and debating the colour of them......... haha ...........It was fun to just relax and stared at a cloudy night sky.

Afternoon!

I have heard so much great reviews of [ UP ] that I am "dying" to watch it. Too bad, I still need to wait for my movie buddy to free up the time. ( which is next week ). Someone I know cried through the film and almost everyone I spoke to, cried at some point. hm......Very very curious........ I must rememder to bring tissue paper and not to put on too much make up. 不然变成大花脸，吓到人就不好啦。 =D

screenplay

Joan of Arc : The messenger.
This is one of my favourite movie, eventhough it didn't received good review. I admired a director that took a historic character and gave it a new life with his own interpretation and a different perspective. No one need to see a same angle twice.

Right or wrong, doesn it really mattered?

I was especially impressed with this particular screenplay. In this scene, Joan of Arc was caught by the English. In the cell, she started talking to an imaginary figure, Her conscious ( acted by Dustin Hoffman).

She was debating with him, her cause and action. The signs that she thought was sent from God. Was it really or simply her own wishful thinking?

To which her conscious replied her:
You didn't see what was, You saw what you wanted to see.

It was very philosophical.

In life, most of us only see what we chose to see and ignore the rest of the possibilities too.

Powerful acting by Milla Jovovich and Dustin Hoffman. Enjoyed myself watching the chemistry between them. It was like a game of chess.

The House of the Spirits

Above was a movie transcript I took from [The House of the spirits]. Caught the movie on Tv when I was in secondary. Was delighted to see it again on You tube. Still moved by the story after so long. This is not quite a ghost story as the title has suggested, but it does fill with spirits of different kinds. Shall spare you guys from my review for I am neither a good movie reviewer non a good story teller, but do check out the wiki & you tube link attached below.

There is something captivating about this movie poster.
Quietly...Controlled....tension....I wont mind having it for a pin up. Being wanting to watch the movie after reading the storyline. More so after seeing this poster and the trailer.

11:53pm _ Decided to watch it after work. Quite in the mood to catch a movie.....Pain....is all I can said. Such controlled emotion but I enjoyed the film never the less .

最近在看[命中注定我爱你]。难怪它是收视第一，真的还不错。本来还挺抗拒这部剧的。觉得戏名好'song'又是偶像剧。对阮经天也没好感。。。。。etc etc etc 结果。。。。。。还是上瘾了。哦 纪存西是帅的。。。。哈 ~~~~~（不好意思，真没形象。。。）

看偶像剧是逃离现实的好方法之一 =）

昨晚看了WALL.E. 是一部超赞的animation。=）
像一本movie magazine 访问里说的, it is animation at its most basic and purest form. 因为没什么dialogue, 所以得靠body language。喜欢其中船长的对白.
( 大意）" I want to live a life , not just surviving it . " 很妙．

MaMa Mia
Here is another film to catch. (Though i am not sure when it will be releasing in Singapore) The trailer looks really promising and fun. Personally, anything with Meryl Streep in it, wouldnt go too wrong. =)

ps: Am digging that blue turquoise sea.

I am so looking forward to this new Pixar animation. Is it even possible to fall in love with a robot. =D

《黄真伊》OST 就做到了。

一直 很喜欢的有两张

应该会是第三张。

PS: I really cried my eyes "out" on this one.....haha =P
